How To: Make Rainbow Cupcakes
Today, I’ll be doing a how to on making Rainbow Cupcakes! These are a HUGE hit at my house, the kids LOVE them and are always asking me to make them for their classroom parties.
I thought I would share the magic!
I say magic because every time that I make them, the kids ask how I do it and my answer is always: magic!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- White Cake Batter
- Food Coloring
- 5 Cups or Bowls
- Cupcake Pan
- Cupcake Liners
Now, the fun part! The directions:
Separate the cake batter into the 5 bowls or cups evenly. Then dye each cup of batter a different color. I used red, blue, green, yellow and purple.
Then, you’ll need to fill your cupcake pan with liners. I used pastel ones, but you can use the aluminum ones to hid the rainbow magic to surprise your kids if you’d like!
When you pour your batter, do one color at a time and you’ll need only about a spoonful of each.
Here you’ll see the layer of purple batter:
Do the same with the rest of the colors, you’ll end up with something like this:
Then, bake!
No special timing or anything, just follow the original recipe for the white cake batter.
Here’s the result!
Super cool, right?! I love looking at them when they’re done!
Next, decorate as you would like!
I usually do white icing and rainbow sprinkles.
Ready to see the inside?!
Amazing! So pretty and so colorful!
Put all your decorated Rainbow Cupcakes on a platter and take them to your next party, your kid’s classroom party or any little shindig! I promise they’ll be a HUGE hit!
I hope you all give it a try!
If you do, snap some pictures and share them on the Fun For EP Kids Facebook page or email them to me at brittany@funforepkids.com and I’ll share them!
I can’t wait to see your colorful, magical Rainbow Cupcakes!
ENJOY!
