Fun For EP Kids had the opportunity of interviewing one of the Disney On Ice presents Rockin’ Ever After performers.
Meagan Midkiff is a lovely young skater who grew up in Euless, TX.
Check out her interview with us below… enjoy!
What characters do you play in the show?
I play a Disney rockstar in opening. You kind of get the crowd going and help Minnie and Mickey tell the story… get everyone up on their feet and ready to rock. I’m also in the Ariel segment. I’m one of Ariel’s sisters, Aquata. I get to play a sassy blue mermaid, that’s my favorite character to play in the show. I’m also a villager in the Tangled & Beauty and the Beast segment and a Macintosh clan member in the Brave section.
What makes this show unique?
There’s classic stories in the show and there’s new ones. There’s a modern take on the classics and the new ones are so fun and high-energy. Everyone who sees it are really excited, you’re just keep rocking out the whole time. It’s really modern, there’s lots of dancing and singing along. Plus, you get introduced to new characters for the first time so it’s really exciting.
How many years have you been with Disney On Ice?
This is the start of my second year and we’re currently in rehearsals for our next tour. This is the only show I’ve done.
What do you find to be the benefits of being a part of Disney On Ice?
Coming right out of high school it gives you a lot of life experiences that you wouldn’t have otherwise. You get to travel and see so many places you’d never see. I never would have gone up north to Canada or anything like that. Being from Texas, it’s really different. I’ve been making so many friends on tour, it’s become like a big family. You get to do something you love and travel and have experiences a lot of people don’t get to have… especially at such a young age. It’s a really great experience that I’m thankful for everyday.
What inspired you to want to be on Disney On Ice?
I’ve been skating since I was 5 and have always really loved the show aspect. My coaches and best friend were on Disney On Ice. Them sharing their amazing stories about being on the show and being on the road has made me always want to do it.
Who is your favorite Disney princess?
Belle. She’s a classic and loves to read and I love to read. She’s just a very classic princess, I grew up watching Beauty and the Beast and it’s definitely my favorite segment of the show.
What is your favorite Disney song?
Probably, Under the Sea because it has a really fun flair to it… makes you really want to dance.
What is your favorite Disney movie?
Beauty and the Beast because I grew up watching it and it’s the one I remember from my childhood the most.
Who is your favorite Disney villian?
Mother Gothel from Tangled. She’s just so fabulous, I love her. She’s very mean but she’s just so glamourous that you’ve gotta love her.
What would you say to inspire the kids watching the show?
If you find something that you love and are passionate about, just keep following it. Keep preserving and working hard because it really does pay off. It’s all worth it. If I can do it, anyone can do it!
Thank you, Meagan, for taking the time to speak with us!
